"Golfer John Daly Passes Out At Winston-Salem Hooters, Spends Night In Jail

Winston-Salem, NC -- Golfer John Daly's battle with alcohol abuse continued Sunday morning at a Hooters Restaurant on Hanes Square Circle in Winston-Salem.
Someone at the restaurant called EMS after he lost consciousness. Paramedics say Daly refused to go to the hospital so they called for help from police.
Officers described Daly as extremely intoxicated and uncooperative. He repeated he didn't want to go to the hospital.

Hooters employees asked Daly to leave. But Daly did not have transportation. Officers say he was part of a group traveling on a tour bus. The group left Daly behind at the Hooters because they didn't want him to continue traveling with them.
They escorted him to the Forsyth County Jail where he spent 24 hours in a "sober up" area.

In 2006, Daly told 60 Minutes' Morley Safer he lived on a diet of "fast food, soda and beer." He went through periods of sobriety followed by binges and gives regular interviews about his problems with alcohol. His PGA Tour career was interrupted by three suspensions involving his rocky off-course life. A life that included multiple failed marriages and a gambling addiction."
